face mask friday

Whether you know which day it is or not, it is Friday. That means one thing if you are reading this blog. Tonight I am back to share my own opinion and review on another face mask. It is face mask Friday after all. Every week I share a review on a new face mask to me. Most are for my skin type which is normal to dry. But there are others that just take my fancy and end up in the basket as well. As you may know if you are a regular reader, I love peel off masks and I have a love/hate relationship with sheet masks.

This week’s mask is another Revolution Skincare mask and a peel off one. The Pink Sparkle Peel Off face mask is a mask that took my fancy. Pink glitter and peel off why wouldn’t?! Vegan, cruelty free and plastic-free glitter as well which is a major plus for me and many others. It is infused with soothing, antioxidant jasmine extract, and hyaluronic acid to help keep skin hydrated. A mask that adds a shimmer to your skin. Vegan, cruelty free and plastic-free glitter.

What do you want more in packaging other than pink glittery sparkle. Being a real girlie girl I love the glittery shimmer to the packaging. The white label runs round the whole peels off which I didn’t know until I didn’t see the time to leave on. With the pink glitter background it’s powerful to have the white label. Just because it makes it clear and to the point of what the product is. Exciting with the pink glitter there on show but to the point simply to show the what the product is.

The peel off label is a good way to make the product smaller but the label needs to be good enough to peel off. But also readable on both sides. When I peeled this off it ripped. Only at the top but that was where the directions were. And if I am honest its pretty much the only thing I read on the product. The directions were on the back of the label as well which made the writing grey, made it hard for me to read without bringing the product towards my face.

As I just mentioned directions are key on any product because especially with masks they change within every mask. Some do have the same timings or certain parts of the directions but some like to throw you off. Though masks can be worn for longer than they say, if you wear them for under the amount they advice. It just makes the mask pointless. This mask is pretty standard for a peel off mask being a dry, clean face to start, put on and leave for 15-20 minutes and peel off. Remove the hanging on pieces with warm water.

My advice to you for a peel off mask like this is to leave it on until the whole mask is dry and you can’t smile without cracking it. Because they are easier to peel off, work better and are more effective.

So that is what I did. My face felt dry because I have face tan on my face, but hadn’t applied for a few days to dull it down a bit. I did apply this to my patchy face but it was clean and dry. A face with dry patches is natural and I think I do have natural drier patches anyway.

Skincare is so important and really face masks in particular show that you can do anything in the 20 minutes you wear them once or twice a week. I just chilled for mine whilst watching some television. But really what can you do in 20 minutes? The housework, read a book, meditate, work from home, anything. You really can’t say you don’t have the time for skincare. It is just a matter of your priorities.

skincare

As I was letting this set, I realised at about 20 minutes that parts on my cheeks weren’t dry yet. I touched them which isn’t the best thing but still. So I waited a little longer. When 25 minutes were up, all I needed to do was peel it off. The one thing that fascinates me, is to peel off in one go. And this mask was one that peeled off in one go. Amazing.

skincare

It was cool to see the mask had set as shimmery pink rather than the pink glitter we applied. The blend of the glitter with the pink just made it so pretty and shimmery. Even when I know not to get my eyes, brows, hairline or lips covered somehow I always do. So once I had peeled the mask off there were little bits in my hair and crumbs of it on my face.

skincare

The results are are pretty amazing. My face feels really soft and none of my face feels dry. Actually it feels the best it has in a while. I can feel a few blemishes on my forehead but that is all. With my skin being on the drier side it takes a fair bit to improve. So being that a few blemishes are every so slightly there is ok for me. I’d rather have a mask that is 98% of my face is fully hydrated than 105% hydrated leaving it too shiny and an oily look to it.

skincare

Would I recommend this mask? Yes, it is really good, love how compact. Which makes it more travel friendly as well as weekly usage. You definitely get all from this mask, well I did anyway. From the size of the product to the amount you use, to the movement of it.

skincare

It is £6 which I would say is average for any mask but especially affordable for masks that contain more than 1 use. The quantity needed for one use for me was about an eighth of the bottle. Which is nothing. A downside of this being the mask sticks to the lid very quickly making it harder to remove from the lid to your face.

skincare

I think most girls like pink and glitter don’t they? Well I do and I also know that everyone needs a hydrating boost from time to time. This is worth it. If my skin was completely fine when I used this I can tell it would work better but not go too fair to make my skin worse. Really for me masks are a boost to keep my skin on the normal side. So this mask definitely did that.

skincare

The only faults of this mask is the fact the label wasn’t strong enough to peel off and stay in tacked. And that the mask stuck to the lid quicker than I could apply the amount on my finger. So it could get messier and messier after several uses. Or I need to be speedier on my applying skills.

If all this seems as good as it does for me then this mask is for you? What is your go to mask at the minute?
