Its face mask Friday and I am here again to review another face mask for you all. Every Friday I hope on here to review another mask, not only because skincare is good and something I love but also because it gives you all the chance to see more about the mask other than the packet and the brand name. Skincare is or should be for everyone, whether you are young or old, whoever you are its for you. Why not make your face feel and look good because think about it? It’s the thing that is always on show!
This week’s mask is another of Origins flower fusion range and another sheet mask. Tonight’s being the violet one. Origins is a brand I have used before and it’s a brand I like. The second flower fusion mask I have used. Tends to be on the pricey side but its a good brand and you can find a good bargain or product worth the money. Violet sheet mask is a nourishing mask, infused with violet for a supple look and feel, while the sweet, delicate aroma of violet calms and relaxes you.
Let’s talk packaging. Purple! It is very purple, but when you think of violet what do you think of, purple. The colours are really bold and beautiful. It is hard to see the actual flowers but you can make out the petal shapes in purples and pinks. Then the branding and name is simple white stands out over the powerful background. On the back there is all the ingredients and instructions. Both written and in picture form which is something I love and find really helpful. Easy to follow wherever you are.
As much as I really shouldn’t compare this to my first flower fusion mask, but I opened this one and the scent of this, the violet one didn’t have any power compared to the raspberry. To be honest there was only the slightest hint of fragrance. Sometimes I am really delighted with the scent of a mask but others it doesn’t overly bother me because in reality I go to bed soon after and the scents worn off by the morning.
Anyway a reason why sheet masks aren’t my favourite, is because they never fit me properly. Is my face small or are they just made not to work properly? I know sheet masks are larger so everyone can use them and yes I still fit in my child’s size riding hat so maybe my head is small. But I expect them to fit better than have them peel up where it’s not fitting me properly.
Violet flower fusion is the same as many others, where it doesn’t work or cover the areas that need the most attention. This one has the creases down my cheek lines but normally these go across my cheeks. You can see on my chin as well where they are folded so much they don’t lay flat around my face.
Time to relax or do whatever you want, for this mask is 10 minutes. This is why skincare or masks especially are for everyone. No one can say they don’t have time because 10 minutes is what? Prep the dinner, run the hoover over, a quarter of a programme, a couple chapters of a book or a simple chill on the sofa. Do something with a mask on if you need to. Make the time for skincare. Me, I read all good for the self care.
When the time was up, that was it. Time to remove the mask. Simple as, didn’t have to do much, it was peeling off my forehead anyway. The instructions tell you to take the sheet mask off and gently massage the rest of the mask on your face in. Which I did. There wasn’t that much to massage in.
That’s it, the mask worked in as far as my face felt smooth and for a few days after as well. I am day 3 after the mask now and I am needing some attention on my left cheek line. An area that is a naturally drier spot. Maybe I should look into something to help that area more. My face feels good though and in most areas is in a really good condition.
For the fact the mask states “ its designed to nourish and hydrate and is for supple skin, enriched with violet flowers.” Then it has definitely nourished and hydrated my skin. The scent really wasn’t there for me and though I am not 100% sure that I know the smell of violet flowers, it didn’t smell floral or like Parma Violets.
Would I recommend this mask? Well if you have skin like my normal to dry and you like to keep your skin hydrated and try to prevent the dryness getting worse then yes I would. The thing that I don’t like is that its a sheet mask and sheet masks don’t fit me well. I mean come on can we have different sizes as you would socks or tissues? That or I need someone to tell me how to fit them better.
It is definitely a good mask for a boost of goodness and hydrates your skin. Keeping it topped up is really good and adding an extra glow to your skin. In the colder months its definitely good for a weekly boost and fighting the weather drawing your natural goodness out. Like I said you can do anything with a mask on so do it. Go round in the mask or wake up a simple 10 minutes earlier.
You want to look good don’t you? Your skin to age well and look amazing whatever the weather or situation. What is your go to mask at the minute? Are you better with sheet mask than me?
