Happy face mask Friday everyone! Are you ready for a cosy pamper night or are you getting ready to go out? I love the fact the weather is changing and it’s time for layers, oversized jumpers and chilled evenings. If you are new around here, welcome. Every Friday I review a different mask for you all to read and see if it’s worth buying or not.
The majority of the time I buy masks that suit my skin type. That being normal to dry. Saying that if a mask catches my eye or seems interesting, I will try this too. Preferably would pick a mask you can apply over a sheet mask. I am still on the hunt for a sheet mask that fits my face better.
Tonight’s mask is Origins flower fusion raspberry sheet mask. The mask is infused with raspberry flower, refreshing and revitalising your skin. The bright fruity fragrances uplift your spirits. Origins is a brand I have used before, so this was a definite to try.
Let’s start with how bright and vibrant the packaging is. Very summery and floral. Love how the raspberry pink brightens the lime green which brings a smile to my face every time I see this. It’s a fusion of inviting vibes.
On the back of the packet has the instructions, what the mask is meant to do and the ingredients. I love that the instructions are in picture form and written. This makes it more user friendly and the pictures help more when hard to explain. They are simple with only 3 steps and off you go. Always read the instructions because not all masks are the standard leave for 15 minutes. Today’s mask is left for 10 minutes.
Start with a dry, clean face. I was fresh out the bath and ready to go. Sheet masks are 1 use, so I ripped the packet open to get the sheet out. The mask was full of goodness. I thought that it was good the mask kept all the liquid and moisturiser making it easier to remove from the packet.
Opening the sheet mask out made your hands a little sticky but that is normal with sheet masks. I wasn’t 100% sure which side should go on my face but went with the side with slightly more of the liquid.
This is the reason I don’t like sheet masks. The fit is just not right for my face shape. It hung under my chin and down the start of my neck. Where the slits are and where they should be are hugely different. I would say they should allow you to fold the mask to fit just under your cheeks, but this folded near my chin.
That or my eyes are too big, and my face is too short to fit the mask! Maybe they should invest in sizing the masks. It would benefit them because their range could be appeal to more people and gain more custom. I do know my head is smaller because I do fit in my riding hat from a child still, but I know others that find the fit is wrong too.
The fragrance was so strong. I thought it would be raspberry scented, but it smelt like I had old fashioned lemonade on my face! Such a citrus fragrance but lime than lemon though. As much as I like lemonade I was looking forward to a raspberry fusion. Which didn’t come through in the overpowering lemonade fragrance.
When the 10 minutes were up, it was time to remove the sheet mask. Easy as take the mask off and see what its left you. I was expecting more from this to be honest. Some especially recently have left so much goodness on my face. This did leave some which I massaged into my face. The thin layer was easy to massage in. I like to leave a little to sink in overnight. That is just personal preference.
As I write this, it is the day after, and my face feels hydrated and they dryer areas are less dry than it was before. Ok they still need some work to make them good, but you can tell they are on the way to this. In other areas my face feels just right. Smooth and clear, the moisturiser hasn’t gone overboard. My face is soft and reenergised.
Origins as a brand is one, I would love to explore a little more. They seem to have a good range of products. They have a few more masks from this range I want to try also. Have you used Origins products before?
For this mask alone I would use again. There are definitely more on the market that my skin benefits from more but to top up and rehydrate this has done as it says it would. I love the scents of the lemonade though I would love the raspberry to be more into the scent too. I want to try more of this fusion range.
Would recommend this to anyone, we all need to rehydrate and boost our skincare from time to time. Its £6 so a reasonable price for a sheet mask. Most range around that mark. I wouldn’t use this as a newbie. You need to experiment with skincare because it’s important to everyone or should be anyway. As a monthly top up mask or to just keep your skin balanced this is good. If your skin is like mine, you will definitely benefit from this but would need to use more often to keep your skin looking good. Oh, and if you’re an old-fashioned lemonade lover this mask will leave you smelling the lemonade for the time it’s on anyway!
Is this a mask for you? What is a mask you are loving at the minute? Do you have one you’d recommend to me?
