face mask friday

It is face mask Friday! I am super glad it’s the weekend, this week seems to have been a long one.  Skincare is so important to me and should be for everyone, hence why I share different masks every week and review them for you all. Most being for my skin type, which is normal to dry. But others, well they just take my fancy and end up in the basket as well.

This weeks mask is another by a brand that I love, Oh K! A Korean skincare and beauty brand. Tonight I am reviewing their SOS detoxifying peel off clay mask, by the words peel off you should know I am excited already. That is if you are a regular face mask Friday reader! It is a detoxifying clay mask, that removes impurities from your skin without stripping away vital moisture. Enriched with witch hazel, to help sooth and clam your skin to help reduce any inflammations. The mask itself is lavender tinted and oil based. An amazing factor to this product is its cruelty free and vegan, which is something I look for in the products I try.

oh k!

I love the Oh K! Packaging and their cute panda which must be part of their brand logo and imaging. It’s just so cute and always peering over the title of the actual product. Most of their masks I have tried are sheet masks or of a similar kind. So its nice to see this tube still has the panda on. The tube itself has pastel pinks swirling round and its very calming colours. With the white label telling you what the product is. For a peel off mask, the tube is thin and small, which is super handy and easy to use anywhere. A handy size to travel with or to use just at home in the bathroom! Oh K do add nice touches to their products with hand written style fonts and phrases such as “happiness everyday.”

The instructions are on the back and they are in green and in picture form. As much as I love instructions to be in picture form. Recently I have realised it all depends on what they are telling or showing you to do. Because instruction number 1 looks to be as wash your face, not start with a clean, dry face. 2-4 instruction wise though seems very clear. Its a peel off mask, so not a lot can go wrong if I am honest.

Peel off masks are the easiest to put on and take off. Some really do love using a makeup brush for applying them. But for me, my fingers are the best way to apply it and cover, with an even and thick layer. Though this is lavender tinted, I didn’t see that through colouring, until now that is. The colour is more of a mink pink, dusty purple colour. I probably used an 8th of the tube for one round, but I do have a smaller face!

As soon as I started to apply this, the smell was there and strong. It actually reminds me of nail varnish remover. So more on the chemically kind of smell. Which isn’t the best, but doesn’t hang around for too long. You do need more of this mask than other peel off masks, because it doesn’t go a long way. But like I mentioned I only still used an 8th to cover my full face.

When I was happy with the thick even layer, it was time to go chill out. This is why you cannot tell me you don’t have time for skincare. Tonight’s mask is a leave on for 20-30 minutes. What can you do in half hour? Personally I take my face mask time, for a chance to relax and unwind. But really if I was making time, I could hoover my whole flat, cook something for dinner, a load of washing, start a blog post even. Do try to squeeze in something every week. I can’t even remember what I did, because it has been so hot and muggy. Maybe I just watched a video or read.

Time does fly when you have a mask on. The one thing I love about peel off masks is when they dry out and you can’t move your face without cracking the mask. No emotion is shown without a crinkle and crack of the mask.

I find peel off masks so satisfying if I can pull off in one go. And I managed it with this mask. Probably the first time in my life I have managed to do that. So it’s amazing and it was so easy to do. Honestly the easiest mask to take off, I just rubbed on the top edge and peeled it down my face carefully.

Then the mask is complete. If you have bits left on your face, you can rub off with water and a flannel. Some you can just take off, if you rub it on your face. But honesty if its anything like mine, it will be so satisfying and do a good job.

My face feels so good from that mask. Though my skin is pretty clear and amazing. I have had a rough patch and blemish to my cheek. But now after the mask especially it’s near enough gone. So soft and smooth. It is in such amazing condition again.

skincareI 100% would recommend this mask. It is on sale at the minute at £4.75, but normally is £8. If you think about it, this is a 100ml tube and that is a lot of masks in just £8. A pound a mask effectively which is such a bargain for a peel off mask. And its giving you a tube so its multiple use, which some aren’t.

Oh K! Are becoming my favourite skincare brand. There isn’t much you can fault in their products. They work and that’s all you want from a mask right? The cute panda is there to keep you smiling and keeping an eye on your face. It is suitable for weekly use and you sure would get at least 8 masks out of it.

The only thing that is slightly off putting is the smell. As I mentioned earlier though, it doesn’t hang around for long. But at first it’s really strong and powerful.

Peel off masks are my favourite and this is definitely going to the top on my peel off mask list. Being its a peel off and a clay mask its really amazing. You should try this one for sure.

What is your go to mask at the minute?
