Happy face mask Friday everyone. Are you out tonight or in for another cosy Christmasy evening with loved ones? I am all for cosy pamper evenings at the minute though I have had a few extra cosy comfortable days. Anyway if you are new here, welcome. Every Friday I bring you a face mask review.
This week’s mask is another from Oh K! I have had a few masks from their range but this is a new one for me. That is the egg white sheet mask. Sheet masks are ones that are hit or miss for me because I can never get the best results from them. They just don’t fit my face properly or I can’t get them to fit properly anyway.
It is meant to give your skin a boost, rich in protein from the egg white, which works to firm, plump and smooth your skin. The protein from the egg white also is good for good pores and extracts sebum from your skin.
Masks I tend to buy and review are ones that help my skin type. My skin type is normal to dry and as the seasons change and we are further into winter my skin becomes more on the dry side so its good to keep it boosted.
Let’s talk packaging. I love how simple Oh K’s packaging is. It’s simple, straight to the point, black edging with the pink with the cracked egg shell. The egg shell is actual size and not large to cover the package. Which I love. A bit of glow and glitter to show that the mask helps to make you glow. Back of the package is just the instructions, ingredients and all the things that have to go on the packaging.
Starting with a dry, clean face, my hair up away from my face. That is a must because masks aren’t good with hair. Open up the pack and pull the mask up. When I opened the pack up the white liquid extracts from the mask were ready to escape.
There was so much goodness in this mask and package. To be fair I couldn’t overly tell which was the correct side to go straight to my face. Opening up there was so much goodness as I mentioned so that really everything was covered and my hands were covered by the time it was open and on my face.
The thing about sheet masks which annoys me is that I can’t get them to fit properly. Even with the slits and wider openings, I struggled to get them to fit and get larger folds in the sheet where I need the most help. This mask was the same as many other sheet masks and I really wish they had different sizes to pick from. Folds in my cheeks and lips area makes it impossible to be in the correct areas and cover as good as it should.
When I was ok with the mask on my face and the coverage was as good as it was going to get. It was time for me to go chill for a while. Always read the instructions because though some are a regular 10-20 minutes, some can really be odd. I’ve had a sheet mask that was only left on for 1 minute. This was a 10-20 minute mask and I do like to keep in on for the longer so I can review it to my best.
That is why I say skincare is so important to look after and you really should look after it. Why wouldn’t you, if you look after your eyes, health and teeth? Your face is always on show so why not put that effort in to? You can’t say you don’t have time either because masks don’t stop you doing anything around the home. What takes you 20 minutes? The hoovering, cook the dinner, housework, read a book, watch the television. Anything!
After the 20 minutes was up, the mask felt a little drier but not much. I thought more would of absorbed to my skin. Sheet masks are easy you take a corner and peel off in a matter of seconds. The mask left a decent amount of the goodness of the mask of which I was advised too gently massage in, in circular movements.
My skin felt in such good condition straight away and a glow appeared through the additional layer waiting to be fully absorbed. Even now a week later, my face is still in good condition. Especially after 2 days of wearing a full face of makeup. It just feels smooth, soft and the equal amount of good to make it perfect. You can’t feel any rough patches or drier areas. Even my t-zone is perfect. The only thing I would say is because I’ve had a cold and now I am sometimes blowing my nose more often. My nose is slightly split and dry. That’s to be expected with a cold though.
Would I recommend this mask? Yes I would. We all need a boost and added goodness to make the skin perfect. The extracts and ingredients working together to make the skin smooth and soft. For starters, to people wanting to change up their routine a bit and for the older. Whoever you are you can use this mask. All skin types as well because we all need a boost, and why not have your skin glow in the winter sun. Make the effort your skin needs.
What is your go to mask at the minute? One you would recommend me?
