It is face mask Friday. I am so glad it’s the weekend and with it being winter, its the perfect time to take care of yourself and your skin. Every week I try and review a different face mask for you all. Most are for my skin type normal to dry but some just take my fancy and jump into my basket.
This weeks mask is by Nspa, a brand I have used a handful of times and its one of the cheaper brands to buy. I have only ever seen these in supermarkets but that could just be my area. Their rituals moisturising and hydrating clay mask is enriched with pomegranate and blackberry. To help even skin tone, draw out impurities and hydrate skin. The mask should leave it feeling moisturised and nourished.
The packaging is really simple, small in size and cute. What more do you need than a pomegranate, some blackberries and the words clay mask? Straight to the point and that is perfect. Not too fussy and overloaded with colour and information. Title, name of the mask and a few details of the product.
I never read the back of packaging if I am honest. Well I do but only the instructions and that is about it. If the instructions are good, that is all that matters. It is all written and tiny writing. Who actually reads all the information? Maybe if you got allergies or got a reaction from it. Otherwise instructions and you are good to go. On this mask, the instructions are written only and just a few simple steps.
Clay masks are one of my favourites. I am all for masks you can apply over a sheet mask. But we are working on that one. The instructions say to use your fingers and apply the mask straight to face. Leaving your eyes and lips free of course!
The mask is quite thick in consistency and so I played around with a little before I applied. But the mask does spread a long way. I have a smaller face but I would say this is said to be one use. Where as for me, there are at least an amount for 2 more masks in this packet.
I wanted to apply an even but thick layer and that is what I did. But it took two layers to get the amount I wanted on. That is fine, Its because of the way I applied it and how far I spread the mask. The mask spread fine though and was easy to apply.
After that is time to chill out. Or do whatever you want. Multitasking with a mask on is very doable! For me I chilled out though. I read some of my self care book and the time flew by. Its a 15 minute wear mask. Personally I always keep on for the time, if not longer to get the full potential from a mask.
Then all I needed to do was wash off with warm water. After a while I swapped from washing with water only, to a flannel. Because though it was washing off, it was taking time and layers rather than off in one go.
Honestly it didn’t take that long but I was tired and needed my bed. But its worth taking the time to wash with your hands and hot water over a flannel. Both do work though so that is up to you.
Straight after washing off my face was red but that is to be expected really. Especially after using a flannel to wipe off my face. As I lay in bed though my face felt like it was burning up but again that could be from the mask and the washing off.
I would recommend this mask for so many reasons. In particular because its works and is only £1.50. Which is such a bargain. What really can go wrong for that amount of money. No money will be wasted based off of that amount and its a good quality product.
Today my face is hydrated, moisturised and feeling good. That is what the mask is meant to do and has done. So really I can’t fault it.
What is your favourite mask at the minute?
