face mask friday

Happy Friday everyone and welcome to face mask Friday. Skincare is important to me and really everyone should have an interest in it. If you think that your face is on show all the time and why wouldn’t you want to look good, when daily you decide on which clothes to wear, what looks good and makes you feel good. Whether you are older or only a teen its not too late or early to start looking after your skin.

This week’s mask I am trying and reviewing is Masque B.A.R’s Self Heating Mud mask. Masque B.A.R is a brand I am familiar with I was looking forward to trying this mask out. The mask contains charcoal powder and charcoal is a good in beauty products. It is meant to be TLC for you skin and helps remove dirt and toxins leaving a smooth finish.

Let’s talk packaging. What else is good for warming you up on a cold winters day? Mittens of course and that is why you would link mittens to a self heating mask. It fits with the winter theme and Christmas feel. A festive red mitten with white and green detailing. Cute and festive I guess. The naming of the brand and product is perfect, easy to read and stands out. But the writing in various languages is small and kind of hard to read. If you are gifting this mask it also has a to and from section on the bottom for you to write a message on.

Always read the instructions because you really don’t know details of how to use the mask. There are some that really catch you out with timings or starting out. This mask you start with a slightly wet face. The opening is sort of hard to see, blends it pretty well with the detailing to the package.

Starting with a slight wet face, I started to apply the mask. I was surprised that the mask was a really light grey colour. Charcoal products they are black or very dark normally. The texture was runnier than other masks I have used, with charcoal in them.

But it worked and covered my face good. Well it seemed to be thinner in places but worked. Even adding more to cover it, it just didn’t. So I guess this is how it covered.

Tonight’s mask is a leave on for 15-20 minutes, which is a good time for me. This is why you can’t say you don’t have time for skincare. You can read, watch tv, clean the house, cook the dinner, anything. For me I like to read for at least 20 minutes a day so this is what I did.

Now this mask was so easy to wipe off. I really can say this has been one of the easiest masks to wash off because the mask hasn’t hardened. You can wipe as much as your flannel will take and it’s off. I did one last wipe with more water than the first few wipes but it’s so the last is to clean my face completely.

I am a person that naturally feels the cold more than most. But I can’t overly say I felt the self heating mask warm my face up. It could be because I have been sick and some how feel hotter than people who are boiling all the time.

My face is very smooth and I can’t feel any rough patches even now a couple days on. It feels clean and and in really good condition.

Would I recommend this mask? Yes I would based on the facts that my face feels clean and smooth. In really good condition and that is what the mask is for. In regards to the heating element, well I would have to try this mask again to get you my honest answer, due to the fact I was still feeling poorly from a bad cold.

Based on my skin type and what my skin needs, this mask is good. It is always good for a cleanse and clean, remove the toxins and dirt. My skin type if you didn’t know is normal to dry and as the weather gets colder my skin becomes dryer. Normally mask’s I go for are masks that will help me, like this one has smoothing my skin out.

What is your go to mask at the minute? Would you recommend one to me?
