face mask friday

Happy face mask Friday everybody! How are you all doing this fine Friday evening? I am so ready for a chilled weekend and catching up on beauty sleep. Are you going out this weekend or are you in for a chilled one like me? You know skincare is so important, your skin is always the thing on show and why not take care of it, like your health, eyes, ears and teeth. Put you and your skin first and make it stand out, look good whether you are 15 or 88. Always age with beauty.

Every Friday I review a different face mask for you, because face masks aren’t only amazing but they are part of my weekly skincare routine. This week’s mask is Masque B.A.R’s Rose Gold foil sheet mask. Everyone who has been following along with my reviews will know that sheet masks aren’t my favourite. I guess you could say my face is on the smaller side and of course masks are shaped for multiple shapes and sizes. It’s got to be me as well because I can’t get them to fit properly, that is why I will go for a mask that you can apply, though I am still on the look out for a sheet mask that fits perfectly.

Like always I read the instructions, what the mask is meant to do, what it is good for and the timings etc. Masks don’t always have the same timings to wear them for. Once one was on for 1 minute but they usually go for about 10-20 minutes, like this one was.

The packaging on this is really simple, a copper like colouring to the lower half of the packet and simple writing in maroon and white. For a rose gold mask the copper though similar its not screaming rose gold to me. I like how the instructions are written and in picture form too. Really makes it easier for anyone to use this mask.

I started with a dry, clean face and my hair tied up and a headband to keep the fly aways away. You never want hair stuck in masks, especially the peel or scrub off masks. Anyway I opened the packet and they was a lot of liquid in the pack. Taking the mask out did bring some of the liquid with it which it should, as soon as I put the packet on the side the rest just flowed out across my bathroom side.

face mask

This mask is a moisturising face mask, to help soothe and purify your skin. It also contains natural fruit extracts with in the mask. Naturally my skin is normal to dry and this week before using this mask my face was really dry. Even with facial oils and face cream, I could just feel that it needed topping up with goodness and a boost to keep in good condition for the autumn. Typically I go for masks that would help my skin like this one.

rose gold mask

When I got the mask out, it was huge. Actually even the mask was more of a copper colour to the rose gold it states but I guess has the shimmer and sparkle of rose gold. The mask was copper coloured to the front but the back was the simple white tissue type paper sheet mask like any other. This is what gets me about sheet masks, maybe they should come in different sizes or something! I can never get them to fit even with folding them and adjusting the shapes with the slots they provide.

My drier areas would be my t zone area, lower cheeks towards my mouth and recently my chin and raw line. The gaping is always where I need the mask to work its magic. No matter how hard I try. When my skin is on the drier side like it was this week, above my lips and cheek line there gains blemishes and irritation. This mask seemed to not let me smooth the mask out there which bugs me.

Anyway once I was finally ok with how this mask looked, I chilled out for 20 minutes. The mask did like to leak a little under my chin so I was wiping my neck some of the time. When a mask is processing you really can do whatever you want during this time. That’s why masks can be used by anyone even if you say you don’t have time. Wear it whilst you cook the dinner or read a book. Anything!

After the 20 minutes were up, it was time to remove the mask. Easy as, take a corner and it will pull away easy as. Leaving a layer of the masks work on your face. As the instructions stated I just simply gently massaged the extra layer into my skin. Which worked really well.

The day after my face felt amazing and I was lucky enough to feel the benefits from it and my face felt in so much better condition. My face didn’t feel dry or rough but all soft and smooth. Really had had the perfect amount of goodness applied, because my face didn’t feel like it had too much  work and wasn’t sticky.

skincare

This mask really is ok. Today 3 days after as I write this, I can feel my face is rougher again and in need of another boost but it did work and for the past two days I have felt the different. Today could be different because I have had a duvet day. But who knows.

rose gold mask

Based on the colour of the mask, it’s definitely copper. So all those jumping for a rose gold mask this really isn’t rose gold. Also I don’t really get the point of the colouring because its not been on my face. It’s just a cover over the actual mask. Which makes it pointless.

skincare

Is it worth the money? I paid £4.99 for this mask which is pretty standard I would say. It does what it says its meant to and has definitely worth the money in that respect. If you are looking for a moisturising mask that works then yes this does.

skincare

Don’t go buy this for the colour, there really isn’t any point in the colour. The copper is pretty but its not what the mask is meant to be. Have the copper blended in well to the mask itself so that is a benefit and is like you have placed the “rose gold” on to your face.

skincare

Would I recommend this mask? Yes as a moisturising mask and if you have skin like mine, normal too dry, it does work. It adds the goodness to your face and smooths out the rough patches. Colour wise though they definitely got that wrong and really pointless added layer to the mask in my opinion. Should have just been a moisturising mask and that would of sold this as a better product to me.

What is your go to mask at the minute? Any you would suggest I try?
