If you are new around here, every Friday I bring to you, try and review a different face mask. Its sort of try before you buy for you but instead of you buying it, I am and giving a review and what the whole process feels like from a dry, clean face to a really healthy, clean face after. Well we hope for that result anyway! My skin type is normal to dry, with my t zone area being especially the one to love the dryness. Most masks are ones for my skin type but I do occasionally review a mask that has completely took my fancy because it glows or the colour is interesting. 

This week’s mask is Lush’s 2019 limited addition Rudolph jelly face mask. Lush is a brand that I love, you know self care and all but also for the fact it has good products, most are vegan and cruelty free and some are naked products which is good for the environment and your future. 

The mask’s benefits try to remove excess oils, tone and soften the face, also bringing a bright glow to your skin. This is from the ingredients such as orange peel and oils, rhassoul mud and carrageenan extracts.

As soon as I opened this mask, the strong scent of chocolate smelt amazing. I originally opened this for a haul over on my channel because Rudolph has his bright red nose as well. A lot of people say they can smell the orange in this mask as well but for me, I could just smell Nutella which because I am a chocolate lover, I was so happy. Good scented masks are always a bonus because you have to have it on your skin for some time so why not smell good. Most masks with a scent like this are branded with that scent in, so you want to be able to smell it. 

Packaging first, it’s in a simple clear pot, tighten shut lid and the normal black and white labels lush use. Something I read on another of lush’s products last night whilst in the bath is that if you take 5 empty pots back of any products stating that, you can get a mask for free. How good is that?

On the website when I ordered this, I saw that Rudolph had his shiny red nose too so that is a cool element they have brought to the actual product and making it more Rudolph. His nose is part of the jelly as well. 

Every mask is different, so always read the instructions. Timing especially is and can be varied from 1minute to 30 minutes, if not longer. This mask is a 10 minute leave on mask. 

Now if you are a regular face mask Friday reader you will know that masks you can apply are my favourite because sheet masks don’t fit my face well enough to work at their full potential. So I was super excited that this is a jelly mask. You don’t need that much other than a pinch full and all you need to do is rub it into a paste in your hands and apply all over face.

For the fact you can tip the pot upside down and nothing falls, I was really surprised that this mask went a long way. Something so small as a pinch can give you a hand full of mask to apply! From a simple rub of my hands, they were covered in the mask and it was as simple as, spread and go. Such a little bit went so far. Leaving so much more in the pot for plenty more mask times. 

Due to having the lurgie, which I am sure I got in Manchester last week whilst there with work, I was having a pamper, duvet day anyway. So 10 minutes chill time to let the mask work, really was a matter of a couple games of spider solitaire. For starters its taken me all week to feel ok enough to even attempt to do a face mask but after a 12 hours sleep and less of a runny nose, I managed it. 

I have to say I feel good from this mask, I feel better for using not just my skin but my cold. It made me want a chocolate bar never the less but chocolate is good for colds right? Face, skin and stomach!

When the 10 minutes were up, it was time to take this mask off and I have to say that it was the easiest to wipe off with a wet flannel. Normally I have to scrub them off with several wipes but this was off with in a couple. I took a clean flannel, dampened it with warm water and wiped my face clean, rinsed once and wiped the rest off. 

That is it, my face now feels amazing. Such good condition, smooth and soft. Even my nose that has had several tissues to it over this past week isn’t rough or dry at all. It really has worked wonders to my face. Where I didn’t apply it to my lips as I wouldn’t any other mask you can tell where my lips are dry and my face is so soft. You can really feel the difference in texture. 

Would I recommend this mask? Yes is the answer I would. Ok its price is higher at the £8 mark, but you would get at least 6 masks out of this roughly. I will anyway. Even with a cold and drier skin because of that, it has made me and my skin feel better in so many ways and more so that I thought it would whilst being poorly. 

Its great as a stocking filler or gift for loved one, even as secret Santa. Has to be a mask for everyone because who doesn’t love a chocolate scented mask? A mask that makes your skin feel amazing and has so much added benefits in it.
