Happy face mask Friday everybody! For all you that are new to my blog, welcome. Every Friday I review a different mask for you all to hear my own opinions and experience using a brand or mask.
My skin type is dry to normal, so I tend to go for masks that suit my skin. Though if it’s unusual or something that catches my eye, I am open to try them too. Mask wise I prefer a mask you can apply over sheet masks. Only because I can never get a sheet mask to fit my face properly. I am still on the lookout for a sheet mask to fit perfectly. Peel off masks fascinate me, I am that weird girl who loves to try peel them off in one go.
Anyway, this week’s mask is Garnier’s Pure Active Charcoal Anti Blackhead Peel off mask. Its purpose is for blackheads and oily t-zones. Formulated with natural origin charcoal and salicylic acid. It tries to target impurities that can clog pores and cause blackheads such as dirt and excess sebum to efficiently remove them from your nose, forehead and chin.
Like always I start by reading the instructions. Something I like about this packaging is the instructions are clear in picture form and written. 3 simple steps and you are good to go. It tells you what the results are meant to be, when to use, how to use and what to expect. You can never guess how long to wear the mask because it’s completely random, one mask I tried was a simple 1-minute leave on whereas this one is 20-30 minutes. That is a big difference to get wrong!
I simply washed my face, padded it dry and applied the mask to my t-zone. The charcoal mixture is very runny so be careful and sticky too. You don’t need a lot to go afar. It spreads well and I applied a good layer across to make it work effectively.
The tube must have at least 20 masks in it. So, the £3.99 I paid for this works out roughly to be £0.20p a mask. Bargain really! It tells you to apply this twice a week and within 4 weeks your blackheads will have lessened. Personally, I have less blackheads and pores now than when I was younger, but I do have a few pores on my nose especially.
After the 30 minutes was up, I went as instructed to remove by peeling from the bottom of the mask. I try best to peel off in one go but It hardly happens. Don’t you love when your mask is dry on your face and it crinkles as you move your face to smile? My mask came off in 3 tries. Well that and the odd bit that stuck to my face. This mask didn’t hurt as much as others when you pull it off your skin.
For the odd bites that stayed on my face, I simply dampened a flannel and wash my face. Easy as and all was removed. It’s weird that a spot on my nose was still sticky and not dry whereas the rest on the mask was dry.
Garnier as a brand I have used before. I love how easy this is to use and friendly for anyone to because of the instructions being clear but also because everyone gets pores and our faces are always exposed to the air and dirt even if we think it isn’t.
Price wise I would say give it a go definitely. £0.20p a mask is nothing, you can’t even buy pick and mix for that price anymore! You can buy this and get it delivered to your home or its available in stores too.
Today my face feels good, my t-zone isn’t as oily as it was before this mask. I need to use this more to get the full potential out of it. My skin on the t-zone area isn’t dry either so it’s a perfect balance. You can use as little or as much as you would like and see benefits. Work with your skin type and what you need to get from this.
Charcoal is a trend for beauty at the moment and skincare especially. It is meant to be good for you and that is another bonus from this mask. Easy to apply and easy to remove in 3 simple steps.
I applied this just before me time, the hour before bed. Applied it, went and wrote in my journals and coloured for half hour and I was back. Within 5 minutes maximum the mask was off, washed face and back to my bed ready to read my book.
For this mask I would recommend to anyone, just use it as much as your face needs. It’s good to clean your face from the dirt and reduce pores. Work with what you have got and what is advised.
Everything seems good about this mask, the instructions, price, quantity and ingredients. Give it a go and let me know what you think!
What is your go to mask at the minute? Do you have any you would recommend to me?
