face mask friday

It is face mask Friday and right now with the world as it is, you really need to take care of yourself. Most of you are probably home, not working or working from home. The children with you now too. Don’t forget about looking after you, whilst you aren’t going out or seeing anyone other than a partner and children. Always keep in tip top condition. Routine and real. Every Friday I bring you a review on a different face mask. Skincare is super important and is now too.

This week’s mask is a night-time one. To be fair 9 out of 10 times I do use a mask at night. Another Garnier but that is ok because I love Garnier and this mask is a sheet mask for the full face rather than just under and the side of your eyes. It is a super hydrating tissue mask to help repair the skin barrier and soothe tired skin. Enriched with deep sea water and hyaluronic acid. Use before bed for a boost of hydration and instantly refresh your skin.

Let’s talk packaging. All in the darker blues. Like the colour of a night’s sky. A real navy blue. The splash of water added some colour to the packaging and the lighter blue of the flower. There is a sort of glow from the splash of water as it would do glimmering in the nights sky. Really pretty. Then it just tells you the name of the mask and what its about briefly.

The back of the packet, is the usual things. Like the boring have to stuff and the instructions. Garnier have the boring stuff, like the have toos small and not covering 3/4 of the back. Instructions are both in written and picture form. Equally spread out and given a good sized picture to the writing. A whole box in white to share how effective this mask should be and the general more in-depth spill about it.

I started this mask 30 minutes before bed, just to allow me time. It is a leave on for 15 minutes but I always like to be early to something than late! With a clean dry face it was time to open the packet and put on the mask. If you didn’t know sheet masks aren’t overly the my best friends, they just don’t work well with my face shape and go all over the place. Tonight’s mask is a sheet mask and I think it was a YouTube video that made me give this way a go.

Inside the packet was the sheet mask, but the sheet mask had an extra layer to it. The wetter side of the mask I applied to my face and once I had fiddled around with it and made sure it fit to my standards or near enough, I removed the extra layer. Maybe I should have took the extra cover layer off before making it fit correctly but it was so more easier than what I normally do.

Once I was happy with it, I had 15 minutes to play with. Perfect amount of time to get your things together for the next morning, make sure you have a meal out or something to cook for the next night. Make your drink ready for bed, unplug things. Put things to charge that you need the next day. Iron an outfit even if you really needed to. I did just that, got out what I wanted for dinner the next day, made sure I had my stuff ready and chilled.

sheet mask

15 minutes isn’t overly long and time really does go by fast when you are busy doing things. The good thing about sheet masks are they just go on and peel off so easy. It is literally like a tissue and moves freely.

When the time was up, that was it. Took an edge and took it off. Simple as. I had a lot of the mask still on my face waiting to absorb. The instructions tell you to gently massage it in, which I did. But because I was going to bed straight after I didn’t massage all of the left overs in. Better to let them absorb naturally in my opinion.

skincare

And that is it. The next day my skin looked good. Even now a couple days on it does. Not overly dry and not too oily. Some hydrating masks boost me too much that causes my skin to feel oily. My skin is normal to dry by the way. Definitely gave me the boost I needed. With all this hand sanitiser and washing my hands are really dry. So it is good to keep my face in good condition.

One down fall that I noticed, that really may not even be to do with the mask. But that night my sleep was so disturbed. I know there is a lot to worry about and stress over right now in the world, but seriously I love my sleep and waking up several times in the night is rare for me. For a mask that is named as a night-time mask, I would have expected to sleep amazingly that night but it was the worst I have slept in a good few months.

A bonus was that it didn’t take the normal faffing around to make this work for me. But I do have to say the eye slots are smaller on this and I have big eyes. The extra layer is amazing but from using it now I should of just laid on face and removed, then made it fit better.

skincare

Based on what this mask is meant to do, I would recommend this mask. It does what it says it would and we all tend to go on what the mask is for rather than what it looks like genuinely.

Needing the boost of hydration? It will work for you. My skin really has the best amount. The actual amount it needs to work and has kept it there. I know I am using masks regularly to keep my skin in good condition but it has done the moisturising and hydrating it states.

I brought this mask when it was on offer £1.99, which it is still now as I write this. Such a good price for a sheet mask. Normal sheet masks average around £5 so even at the normal price £2.99 it’s a cheaper one.

skincare

Garnier is a really good brand the only thing that disappointed me to be honest, is the fact that its a night time mask and yet my sleep was awful! So I would use this again but not at night time. I would of been better using this first thing in the morning and tired myself out in the day for a long, good night’s sleep.

What is your favourite mask at the minute? Do you have one you would recommend me?
