Face mask Friday

Happy face mask Friday everyone! I am for one super glad its the weekend after a stressful week at work and presenting to the director today. It’s going to be a cold, wet and windy weekend so perfect time for a bit of me time and a pamper. Another great reason to take the opportunity to look after yourself and your skin. Your skin is always on show so why don’t make it look as beautiful as you.

skincare

The reason I review masks weekly to you all. It’s not just so I am trying it before you buy. But because it is giving me the change to look after myself and have a skincare routine. I love a good face mask and because my skin is on the normal to dry side. It is good to keep it in tip top condition. Normally I go for masks like this that help with my skin type, then other times it just shouts hello at me on the shelf and I have to buy it.

Frank Body is a completely new brand for me so I don’t know much about it other than this mask and the array of their collection on ASOS. I actually brought this mask just over a week ago and its no longer on ASOS. But the good thing is I am writing a more in-depth review rather than the its good sort you get on website reviews. Will be linking the full size one for you and not the cute little pouch I have.

skincare

This mask is a glow mask and it’s a hydrating ones. Especially good for the cold, windy winters days! It works to reduce the puffiness and give your skin some extra life. Brings a glow and brightness to your face. Anyone can use this, whether you have dry, sensitive, normal or emotion skin and you can use it as much or as little as you need to. Full of natural and 100% cruelty free and vegan friendly products. Goji berries are one of my favourites and so it has them, shea and cocoa butters, cranberry and raspberries, plus many more.

My packaging will probably look a little different to yours, unless you can find the cute looking pouch like mine. Ready to ice your face. Love the baking sort of theme to the packaging. How its pink and cream based. Simple yet effective. Not much to it other than the branding in a typewriter font and the squeezable packet. The back has the instructions and the must haves on it.

First up when I opened this up, oh my! It smelt and felt like I was going to ice a cake. Yes I have to ice an actual cake tonight! But this was so good. The smell was inviting and I am really wanting, eating and craving cake at the minute. Just a simple vanilla scented icing in form of a face mask. Even when squeezing some of the mask out the texture and way it appeared on my hand was icing like.

Skincare

I started with a dry, clean, cleansed face. Really most masks ask you to start like this but sometimes they like to change it up a bit. Fresh from the shower I started to apply this vanilla icing scented mask to my face. Now I have tried masks with a brush but I find that I can apply a mask better using my fingers.

skincare

To begin with I found this mask thick and though easy to spread a long distance. There was a good amount of coverage and thickness to work its magic. You should always leave your eyes, eyebrows and lips out and I guess a little line around your hair line. Somehow for me anyway it’s not that easy. Its like when you say no you don’t need the extra potato but you eat it anyway. For me I was all out to miss my false lashes because 15 days in I am super pleased with them still and they look as they did day 1. But of course I was applying this mask and of course some of the lashes were iced a little. Its ok I got it off but just be careful.

Always read the instructions, though not fully clear on my packaging of this mask, online and I hope on the larger bottle will explain this. Timings are important though if you go over the time it’s totally fine. But some do shout out and surprise you. This is a mask for a wear of 5 minutes. Less than most masks I have used. Not that I time the wear properly but I guess roughly the timings.

The packaging says it’s good for a pre makeup, late night or the morning after use. I used it in the evening, but like I mentioned I have had a busy week and I am very tired. Suppose I have had a late night out on the town in form of a nightmare or two!

face mask

When I was happy with the coverage, I think I applied a little too heavy in places but want to review this as best as I could. So it worked. I was off for a 5 minute chill. Thinking of what I did, such a little amount of time, think I played a round of solitaire or two. Go chill out, empty the dishwasher or do the dishes anything.

Time goes fast of course and when I went back to see what had happened and what I do next. I was puzzled and in the end guessed. On my packaging there is nothing about washing it off or leaving it to soak in. “5 minutes and you are good to go!” Well I wouldn’t be leaving anyway with a face full of icing mask. Not even to bed as an overnight mask. So I just washed it off. Now as I read the website to get the details of the full tube for you, it says to wash off.

skincare

It was weird that the right side of my forehead, the mask was near enough absorbed but the rest of my face had a lot of mask on still. Washing it off though was easy. The mask hadn’t hardened as a clay mask would of, or other masks you apply. This is more of a thick cream consistency. A few wipes with a damp flannel and I was good to go.

skincare

My face felt so soft and smooth when I had finished and an amazing healthy looking glow. Now a day and night on, I still have the glow but not as much. So maybe applying this in the morning is better or pre the night out makeup. A definite glow up!

skincare

For me this mask was about hydrating my skin, making my skin look good and keeping it refreshed with a natural glow. I am very lucky with my skin and always have been, hardly ever had spots, acne or anything so I am basing this review only on my skin but if you have my skin type you are all good to go.

skincare

So my pouch I brought from ASOS was £5 and a 35ml pouch. 2 masks based on the amount I used, but if you used more regularly I would say you’d get 3 out of it easy. So an 80ml for £15.95 is pretty good value, basing that on 9 uses. Works out £1.77 a mask. Not bad really! Pretty average.

skincare

Love the fact it is natural, cruelty free and vegan. Making it all users friendly. The scent of it is amazing and oh my who couldn’t do with a slice of cake and a bit of butter icing right now?

skincare

The ingredients even being natural with the fruits and beautiful smelling scents makes me happy. Not only in food form but making your skin healthy. Ok your body less balanced but works good both ways!

As it says it does, it works. 100% cannot fault this product and will be trying and using Frank Body and this mask again. Left me with a brighter, smoother face and a full night of sleep look rather than the one I was about to go to bed in. Dry patches removed and replenished and a really nice natural glow.

skincare

If you can find the pouch for £5 which is out of stock at the minute get it. But if you just think yes then get the tube full. £1.77 for a mask that I can tell you will work is such an amazing price and find that you can’t really say no to it, if I am honest. Applying this mask more often as well is going to keep your skin looking amazing day in day out with the top up of this weekly.

Just buy it, use it and be amazed. What is your go to mask at the minute? One you would recommend me?
