Happy face mask Friday everyone! Friday’s are my night to share and review with you a mask I have tried. Skincare is really important and should be for everyone. If you think about it your face is always on show and so why wouldn’t you take care of it! Look good for yourself and everyone else. I love a good pamper session and face masks have become a huge part of my weekly skincare routine.
The masks I purchase, and review are mostly to help my skin type. Which is normal to dry. However, if masks are grabbing my eye I will buy and review them. Personally, I prefer masks you apply over sheet masks because I can never get sheet masks to fit well. I am still on the hunt for one to fit me properly.
Tonight’s mask is a sheet mask and ticks all boxes to help my skin type. Where the weather is changing, and I am in and out of air conditioning areas such as my t zone are becoming drier and in need of more love. The mask is made of a thin, customised 100% natural cellulose sheet to minimise irritation whilst maximising adhesiveness. The specially formulated jelly tea serum helps to nourish and hydrate your skin.
First, let’s talk about the packaging. I love how simple it is with the peach background with the cup of tea at the top and lady at the bottom and brand and product titled in the middle. On the back of course are the instructions. Vital information to read because you never know when or what to do because every mask is different. The instructions are written and draw which is something I love and find helpful too. It also explains the mask is a one time use and all the ingredients in various languages.
I started with a clean dry face like the instructions stated. The sheet mask was full of the tea serum and when I opened the packet, I was lucky it didn’t spill over as I ripped the opening open. You would definitely be able to tell, you have definitely got your money’s worth in the amount of serum and goodness ready to apply to your face.
Other sheet masks I have had seem to be more of a runnier liquid than this one. This was like mentioned more of a serum, thicker moisturizer covered mask. When I opened the mask up to apply to my face, I wasn’t sure which was the side to go to my face and the side that was the outside due to the amount of serum. After a while I guessed and applied to my face.
Why cut slits in the mask to fold at your cheeks, when they are down by your chin when applied? This is why I don’t like sheet masks because I can’t get them to fit well and the creases are in places, I really would benefit the mask being. The bonus to this one was that the nose bit fit better than any I have tried before. It fit and I even managed to have a small gap not covering the end of my nose.
When I was happy as can be with the fit, I went and let it work its magic whilst I filled in my journals. The mask is meant to be left for 10 – 20 minutes and I left for the full 20 to get the best from the mask.
After the 20 minutes I went to remove the mask. The instructions tell you to take off the mask and gently pat the remaining serum in. When I took it off my face was glowing in the added serum and full of an additional layer needing to sink into my skin. I gently rubbed as much as I could into my face and left the rest because it was near bedtime so it could sink into my skin whilst I slept.
As my alarm went off the next morning, I felt amazing, I had slept the whole night and my skin felt so good. The serum had sunk in and I could feel the smallest of layer on my face, but it was smooth and in the best condition. Even now a few days after my skin feels moisturised and smooth. It has added the right amount of goodness for my skin to replenish to its normal. Some masks leave my face feeling sticky but this one has given me the right amount.
For the £4 I spent on this mask, I would highly recommend to anyone. If you have similar or the same skin type as me or just needing a boost of moisturiser go for this mask. It’s worth every penny I spent and more. From the amount of serum covering the mask and packet, to the feeling waking up the next day feeling your skin is in such good condition. The mask isn’t overpowering either, so it works to its best ability and helps for longer than others.
The only thing I would say is the folds should be higher up on the mask or maybe made in different sizes so we can all benefit the best from the mask. I have never seen this brand before, and I can’t wait to research some more and try more of their products. If this is what I think of the sheet masks, then I want to try see if they have masks you can apply or overnight masks.
What is your favourite mask at the moment? Do you have one you would like me to try?
