Happy face mask Friday everyone! It’s the weekend finally, this week has dragged. But I am super happy to be home for a pamper session. Are you home for a cosy autumn evening in or are you going out? Whatever you are it’s always good to look after yourself, your skin and your health. Every Friday I review a different mask for you.
Skincare is super important to me and should be for everyone else. That’s whether you are 15, 50, 90 or 30. Your skin is the thing that’s always on show, everyone can see this and why not look good as well as look after yourself? Whether you have a little skincare routine or a big one, face masks are a good starting point.
This week’s mask is one from the Anatomicals multi pack. I have used the brand Anatomicals before for masks especially but also for shower gel. They are often in beauty subscription boxes as well which are always good to try new brands and products. Pricing wise their products are good prices and cheap. Worth the money plus more to be honest.
Today’s mask is the first of three so come back for the other two over the next couple weeks. Stress is something I try to avoid but to be fair everyone can be stressed over anything at any time. It’s not avoidable when you are stuck in that situation. This month has felt a little stressful to be honest. I have a couple things that could be seen as stressful that are pushing me towards my limits. Another good reason to take of yourself!
Every Anatomicals mask as this one is, is one you apply. My favourite kind. I love that they put more into the product name than just a simple chocolate de-stress mask. It adds more fun to the product, making you want to buy it. Makes me laugh as well because they are kind of childish in the names but it’s cute and to be fair it’s true in its words.
The packaging is simple, the name written across the packet with the brown background. Most of their products are fun colours and mismatch but what colour do you think of when you think about chocolate? Brown so it works well with the mask. A plus about their masks like this, is the opening is at the bottom. As all packets do, the mask always sits at the bottom, so the clever design is perfect. So easy to open and apply straight away.
Like always I read the instructions. The packet even has a little quirky saying on the back to make you smile. Today’s being “you’re no longer a 4 year old, sticking your head in the cake mixing bowl, but somehow your face is still covered in chocolate. No need to ask why. Our cocoa anti-stress mask will leave your skin calm, relaxed and radiant. In fact, you’ll look good enough to eat. Think we’ll start with your lips.” Now you can see the fun factor they put into their branding.
Masks vary in time to leave on so always read the timings. I left this one on for 15 minutes, but it states 10-15 minutes is best. Easy as a clean, dry face and open the packet. Off you go, hair up and out the way, a mirror and apply. I hadn’t even opened the packet fully and I could smell the chocolate. Not only chocolate but more Nesquik chocolate milk or a chocolate frapachino. It reminds me of when I use to work in a café, and we blended milk and a chocolate muffin to make a milkshake. So, it’s for the chocolate lovers.
Went on really easy actually. Wasn’t clumpy like others I have used. Easy to spread across my face and I only used half a pack. Normally I get it too close to my eyes, lips and eyebrows but this went on really well. Nothing went were it wasn’t meant to be. It was like a chocolate milkshake in consistency. Didn’t run fair when applied and sat correctly drying for the 15 minutes.
Simply washed my hands and went off to watch tv whilst I waited. That is what I like about masks, you can apply them and go off do what you want whilst they set. It’s not really something that you don’t have time for. Wear it whilst you cook the dinner, have a bath, make your lunch for the next day or just relax like I did.
When it was time to take off, the mask wasn’t fully set. By that I mean my face wasn’t stuck in one position. Like when you smile your wrinkles crack in the set mask. It tells you to wash off with cold water and flannel. The mask washed off easily, only a couple of wash and wipes of the flannel.
At first, I thought my face was stained a little. But I do have a little Greek tan so it’s just that really. But you do get a tint of chocolate tint to you, just for a while. A couple of washes and a night’s sleep will help.
Stress to me, effects a lot of things about me and my life. My mood, my sleep, what I want and need out of each day. Ok I can’t 100% tell you that this mask has improved all my stress levels because other things may have happened to adjust this also.
Sleep is something I love and need. I benefit from it so much. My sleep has been disturbed and off pattern this week and I have to say I slept the best all week the night I used this mask. Which of course makes me feel better anyway. Sleep is my thing that makes me feel better or distracts me from whatever is bothering me.
Other than that, my skin feels a little too sticky, like it has too much moisture in it. It’s really smooth and soft though. More of an oily texture to my normal, dry to normal type. I do feel I have benefited from this mask though even if I only slept better last night. Those kinds of masks are the best. Not only your skin gains the goodness, but your body does too.
This mask is good for anyone. Bargain price of £1.16 if you buy it as I did in the pack. (£3.50 for the pack). Or 2 euros on its own. Such good value for money when you can get at least two masks out of a pack. Anyone stressed or feeling a little run down, pressured and needing a break? Buy this mask. Even if it’s just a good night sleep you gain from it. Your mood will improve from that alone.
Newbies to the world of skincare or those wanting to explore skincare some more buy the pack of 3. They give you the chance to try different kinds but linked to the same skin type. If you don’t get on with them it’s so cheap that you haven’t wasted a lot of money on it. But I doubt you will be disappointed.
Chocolate lovers don’t be tempted to eat the mask as you apply it to your face. It’s very powerful in the chocolate scent but smells good. Maybe eat before you apply.
Enjoy this mask, relax and de stress as it’s meant to allow you to. I am today definitely feeling less pressure and a happier mood than yesterday. Sleep is the best and having this help you are such a changer in your life.
What is your go to mask at the minute? Do you have one you would recommend to me?
