face mask friday

It is Friday and though we may have stayed home all week, I for sure am ready for a pamper and wind down for the weekend. Every Friday I try and review a new mask for you. All reviews are my own honest opinions and hopefully allows you to have a better understanding of the mask before you go buy your own. Most of the masks I try and test are for my skin type which is normal to dry. But if the mask looks cool or jumps out at me on the shelf, I am 100% down for trying that too. Sheet masks are a bit of a hit and miss for me and I am still on a hunt to find one that fits my face and works where I need it to the most.

Anyway today’s mask is 7th Heaven Passion Peel Off. 7th Heaven is a brand I am familiar with and one that is really affordable. They seem to have hit the formulas correctly allowing their range to be really affordable and excellent. Passion peel off is a pomegranate, passion flower, raspberry, grape, cranberry and vitamin E based mask. It contacts the antioxidants that help to protect your skin, white pores and dead cells, giving your skin and face a deep clean.

Let’s start with packaging. What do you even think packaging should be like when you think of Passion peel off mask? First thing that comes to my head is passion fruit. Obviously that isn’t an ingredient. But the ingredients in this mask are all on the red side. Except the passion flower, one I had to google as I haven’t heard of it before. How beautiful though, unique and purple! 7th Heaven have used the colouring of the ingredients, all the reds and pinks for the colouring. All their mask packaging has a person trying a mask on. Pomegranate pips are layered up around the lady. For me though I would of put the passion flower as the cucumbers on the eyes. Not pomegranates. But its ok packaging. Nothing is overly wow about it, but for the cheaper end products, it does its job of telling you what it is and keeping the mask ready for use!

First of all this is a peel off mask. Love a peel off mask. Why? 1 because it fascinates me and makes me really want to pull it off in one go. 2 because I can apply to my face as I want and more to the areas that need the most work and 3 because they are amazing.

The instructions ask for a clean dry face. Fine for me I had just had a shower so I was clean and fresh as a daisy. When I opened the mask, oh my the scent is really strong, sweet and sort of funfair bubblegum. A scent that actually I love but was a little too strong to begin with. I had to take scissors to the packet mind you, because the opening wasn’t overly user friendly.

Once the packet was open the mask flow out quite easily. Not too fast but enough to cover a cheek at a time. Easy to apply. Spread pretty easily and though sticky, didn’t cause to much of a mess and fingers weren’t left that sticky! I used to use a brush for masks but I actually find using my fingers works so much better for coverage. Simple and easy, I covered my face within 5 minutes maximum. Do be careful not to touch eyes, lips or eyebrows because they don’t like face masks!

I thought I was super careful when I applied mine but I have hay fever right now and my eyes and nose are forever itchy! Must of blinked and the mask was on the end of my lower lashes. Well my eye was then streaming and irritated. That is the thing with peel off masks, they start to dry as soon as they are on your face. Even using a cotton bud to remove the smallest layer under my eyelashes was sticky and worse than applying the mask! Did help though and my eye stopped streaming.

Always read the instructions because some masks surprise you with timings especially. This being a fairly average 20 minute leave. But if your skin needs longer for the mask to dry then do leave it that little longer. Worse to rub off when left sticky. The good thing about these instructions are that they are written and picture form. Though I actually haven’t read the instructions and only looked at the pictures. Are you are reader or a looker?

This is when you realise what you can do in 20 minutes whilst this dries. Skincare is for everyone and really I mean everyone! 20 minutes, that’s a bubble bath, start to make the dinner or even make and have the dinner ready. Read a book or the first half of a programme. Sort the gym kit out or whatever takes your fancy. But making them 20 minutes free a week even, has so much potential for better, brighter, healthier skin. You look after your hair, eyes, ears, health and teeth right? What is the difference then in looking after your skin.

20 minutes fly by and they really do. Before you know it the mask has gone hard and you can’t make any emotion without forming 20 wrinkles and splits in the mask. That is why I love these masks. Weirdo I know my it amazes me how much it can do in 20 minutes and to set as well.

Peel off mask

Always challenging myself to peel it off in one go. I just pick or rub at an edge normally and slowly work my way down my face. Never manage my full face but I will one day! Got about 3/4s off I would say. Maybe more. That is why the longer you leave the mask the better. Because though I couldn’t move my face, random patches on my face were just a little on the sticky side. If I had left it 5 minutes more I think I could of managed to remove it all.

skincare

My face is in such good shape and condition right now. It feels amazing and I have brightness to it. Really my skin has never been in “bad” condition. I have never overly experienced acne or even spots. Heading into my 30s I seem to have a few in my hair line but there are other things to answer for that. But my skin just feels really clean and healthy. Even now a few days on.

Would I recommend this mask? Well yes I would. And for so many ways as well. Firstly because you can pick these up anywhere. Local supermarkets, online, drug stores, random stores like the range. Anywhere!

skincare

They are such good value for money and really if you were to do 1 a week, it would be under £10. £10 a month is nothing if you think about it. I got this from Boots but right now the website is shut or 2 hour queue to enter because of Covid-19 but amazon sell for £1.49. Handy for anyone to have. If you want to use it once a month, week or 3 times a week. Or just as the occasional deep clean and boost. Can’t fault on price at all.

skincare

Peel off masks are always going to be my favourites because they amaze me and do as what they say they will. Now I know that averagely my face is maybe on the smaller side. ( I fit in my age 11 riding hat still.) You can apply as much or as little as you want and there is always enough for full coverage. They just amaze me ok.

skincare

It works. My skin is clean, fresh and beautiful. LOL no really it is in such good condition and it feels it as well. There isn’t even the smallest of patches that are needing help right now and its nearly a week on.

skincare

Works for every skin type so it is a must buy and think about it as even a stocking filler or pamper night with the girls. It’s hardly going to break the bank. For teenagers wanting to experiment or needs a little boost but not opening admitting it. To me, the kind of person that is down for any time of pampering, spa sort of thing, love it.

skincare

The only thing I would like is for the packaging to show more of the “passion” as in the name. If the “passion” is from the flower, which I think it is. Then they need to be in there and showing more. Swap the pomegranate pips for the flowers and the small flowers I have now found in the top corner to be the pips.

skincare

Other than that go buy it. The packaging shouldn’t stop you. What is your go to mask at the minute? Would you recommend it to me?
