Happy face mask Friday! As much as I am on a new year roll and feeling so good, that doesn’t mean I am so grateful for Friday and a good old pamper. That is right, its Friday night and I am in for a cosy night on the sofa, chill and an early night. Every Friday I review a different face mask for you and to help me improve my skincare routine.
This week’s mask is an overnight mask, which is one of the easiest masks to use and have time for. We all sleep right? The brand is Sunday Rain and its the sleep mask in watermelon. Sunday Rain is a completely new brand for me and its 100% vegan. Watermelon scented and is meant too smooth and revitalise in one nights sleep.
Let’s talk packaging. How simple but bright this is. I love the watermelon pink, if you can call it that. The watermelon pink goes well with the white lid and white label. Love the gold, not overly bold but there brand name and its shouting sleep mask to you. All you need on the front really, the name of the product, brand and what it is for. Hints of gold, watermelon and black on the white label and its so cute.
The back though, it’s full on. Its got the instructions only in picture form and they aren’t overly big. Ingredients and the have to things like caution. Then the vegan friendly, cruelty free and recycled. Which I love. You really don’t have to test on animals to test or even make a product, so why do it?
Easy as to use. Go to the loo, wash your face, brush your teeth. The usual nightly things. Then add the mask. Literally the smallest part and it covers your entire face. One tip though I would suggest is that you blow your nose and take your medication before applying the mask.
As soon as I opened the lid, the powerful, yummy scent of watermelon was amazing. It’s not overly pink in colour though, that is the mask I mean. You can see the tint of pink but it’s more holographic kind of instead.
Literally brushed my teeth and applied this mask. Then wandered into the bedroom and lay down for the night. Really is easy as. The smallest amount covered my whole face. I just added a little more to my forehead and t-zone because they are the driest places for me.
I have to admit, it’s odd going to bed knowing you have a face mask on it. Was even sort of worried that I’d roll over and get it on the pillows or lay there that long that I wake up stuck to my pillow. But then you fall asleep and the next thing you know its morning.
That sounds really easy doesn’t it? Well it really is. As quick as applying night cream or turning off the lights and you have a mask on and good for a good nights sleep. Skincare is so important that no one should have an excuse.
If you can’t make your dinner with a face mask on, or write the weekly shopping list then seriously use sleep masks. Just don’t forget to wash it off in the morning!
Putting the actual pot by my toothbrush was the way I remembered in the morning. You actually can’t tell you have it on in the morning if I am honest. Just wet the flannel and washed my face as I would have normally and the mask came off, I think.
My face feels that it has definitely had a boost from this mask. It’s smooth and soft and there isn’t anywhere that feels that its rough and in need of a boost. Even a day or two after its in such good condition and I can really see a benefit in using this sleep mask.
The smell is just amazing and why I recommend this. On smell alone it’s a must. If watermelon is your thing get this mask. Its watermelon scent of course but its refreshing and inviting and doesn’t smell chemically like other masks I have tried do. I could sleep with this on nightly purely for the scent.
How you can just apply and fall asleep for a nights sleep is another good reason. Skincare is as important, if not more important than your sleep. I mean I need my sleep and I need it for my natural beauty but seriously getting a good nights sleep and the added bonus of this mask on your face also is amazing.
Price wise its actually really reasonable. £6.50 for a 50ml bottle and thats plenty of good nights sleep in that. For the amount you need, well I needed which was minimal, you would get at least a dozen masks out of it. If not double.
Everyone sleeps, everyone needs a skincare routine and especially if you can’t find time then get this mask. Actually I can’t fault it. It works, it smells amazing. Does what it says it should and its vegan and cruelty free. Absolutely for everyone.
The only thing I can critique on, is the fact the instructions are in picture form only. Ok its a sleep mask so it means what it says but the pictures are small and not very clear. Even now a couple days after use. I am doubting whether I should of washed my face in the morning. But there we go, at least we tried and it worked.
Do you like sleep masks? What is one you would recommend to me?
