When it comes to dressmaking, people think you either have the talent to or not to make your own clothes or for others. Well I have to admit I have sewn for about 15 years but if you follow a pattern its really easy. Anyone can pick up sewing and get along with it. Obviously if you haven’t sewn before then start at beginners but you can make something simple. This is my first time using Tilly And The Buttons dressmaking patterns and the Mila dungarees pattern is for a confident beginner. I am more than a confident beginner so this pattern was really easy for me but I would say this is too hard for someone who is making this as their first project. Tilly’s patterns are new and up to date. I love them now I have done a few.
As most of you know I went to Mallorca the end of October, as the weather wasn’t great and rained 5 of the 7 days. I ended up spending my time exploring European brands and buying a lot. I had heard of some of the brands before but some are new to me and I have now fallen in love with these brands.
So here is my 5 days of shopping and this is definitely a way to spend 150 euros when it rains all day everyday on holiday. I advise you go to Puerto De Pollensa when its warmer unless you would like to spend this money.
When it comes to going away this time of year, especially in Europe. It’s a difficult decision as to what to pack and wear? Will it be sunny and warm or cold and rainy. You maybe ok if you are going outside Europe but always pack a blazer or cardigan just in case. I have recently been to Mallorca and this is my look book as to what I took and wore for the week I was there. I was about 25 degrees and mainly wet but the occasional ray of sunshine. So here are my 7 outfits.
What I eat in a day is something I normally cover on the last Wednesday of the month over on my channel. Something that is very popular and as such is called ‘What I Ate Wednesday’. I am a very fussy eater and about 90% vegetarian. Plant based foods just seem to suit me and my disease. I guess you could also say I clean eat. I have a healthy and balanced diet. When I am away I eat slightly different, one because of what’s on offer or two because of what I fancy. In Mallorca the buffet in our hotel really wasn’t all that and so hard to get a full vegetarian meal let alone a vegetable. If there was a vegetable it would be mixed with bacon or some kind of meat. Or something I don’t like. We were half board which was good for me especially as I could then eat more at lunch time if I wanted to. So here is what I ate in a day on a holiday.
When it comes to going away on holiday I am normally an all-inclusive beach holiday person. It doesn’t overly matter to me what the food and drink is like. Though I love food, those who know me or have watched What I Ate Wednesday will know I eat really healthy and clean. I also did weight watchers 5 years ago so the amount I eat is based off of that diet I guess. This holiday we went to Mar Senses, Puerto De Pollensa, Mallorca. It is an adults only half board hotel and is fairly small. We booked this through Thomas Cook as a package holiday. I have been back just over a week and here is my review on my sunny relaxing holiday in this hotel.
How fast is this year going? It’s had so many ups and downs this year it’s crazy. Anyway I have so many favourites this month, a complete variety again because a favourite can be anything. It also gives the reader a chance to try something new hopefully.
Though this maybe different to my normal post, crafts are very much a massive part of my life. Being creative whether its creating and editing videos, to dress making and quilting. Crafts are very therapeutic and help so much with distraction and keeping busy. Something I enjoy and can get stuck into a craft for hours. I have been to the Alexandra Palace Knitting and Stitching Show every year since I was 14. I use go with school and now I go with my Grandma and my Mum. We go every year and it’s always a good and expensive day. You can go there and think I don’t need anything but come away with several new projects to make. There are a variety of crafts there as well so it’s not all fabric, wool and machines. There was a lot of bead and jewellery making stalls this year. They also have demonstrations and shows there.
So I had a list of what I needed but like I said it’s pointless because you always over buy or loose the list like I did. But I had in mind what I wanted. I went for some green fabric for my advent, a project for Alfie to do when we do Christmas jewellery making, Aurelia’s stocking fabric and fabric for my project I am making Aurelia for Christmas. I think I got what I wanted but I also got more. I was gutted Mandy Shaw from Dandelion Designs wasn’t there this year, that’s my all-time favourite stall to visit. Of course I came away with more than I went for and even started my Christmas shopping! I am really excited to make all I bought with the kids and my very own projects. I also have my go to stalls the ones I love the fabric or I usually shop from them online so it’s nice to actually see the products before buying. You also have to get there early otherwise its super busy with various people pushing you out the way to get to stalls.
When it comes to travelling you know you can’t take all of your make up with you. Unless you only own 6 products then maybe you can. You want to take what you would call your essentials, palettes that allows you to do a variety of looks, a face cream, foundation depending on your skin and where you are going and the basics. I also take a smaller make up bag which is easy to fit in the suitcase or hand luggage. If you have the mini sizes then yes to fitting lots in. I am going to Majorca so for me I am hoping to get a little colour so won’t want much foundation as I hope to get a tan, what is the point in a lighter face than the rest of your body?
